Over 14 years of experience in Behavior Analysis

My passion for animals began at an early age; I grew up in a menagerie consisting of multiple dogs and cats, bunnies, an iguana, parakeets, a boa constrictor, fish, and many hamsters. My life continues to be enriched through caring for and learning from animals. I view them as sentient beings with much to offer their human companions.

I was first exposed to and became passionate about Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) by working with domestic animals under the supervision of world-renowned veterinary behaviorist, Dr. Lore Haug. From 2010 to 2014 I worked alongside Dr. Haug as a behavior technician treating mainly dogs and cats in an assortment of behavioral challenges. I continued my education in the science of behavior modification by earning my Master’s in Behavior Analysis from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 2017.

After completing my Master’s degree and obtaining my BCBA in August 2017, I worked with individuals on the autism spectrum. I enjoyed working with my clients and their families but decided to return to my passion for animal behavior modification in 2023. I created Shaping Paws in 2023 with the goal of providing evidence-based behavioral services to dogs and cats.

These behavioral consultations aim to educate and empower human caregivers with insights into their pet’s behavior, enabling them to create a nurturing and supportive environment for their furry companions.
